Some may try to dismiss the search for truth as a highfalutin notion best left to those in their ivory towers. How wrong and dangerous such claims are! If we cannot as a society even agree on basic facts, then we are doomed. The propagandists can take over. They can generate outright lies and distort events to fit their ends. That is precisely what Fox News has been doing in its support of the agenda and lies of Donald Trump.
This erosion of truth does not happen overnight. It takes time to destroy the fundamental values upon which a society is built. Take heed! We are now on that slippery slope.
